They have stopped making the Almond Milk versions of Breyers Non-Dairy Ice Cream. But they are still making Breyers Non-Dairy Oat Milk Ice Cream.

I like it when companies don’t mess around. Breyers doesn’t bother with little pints. They only sell their Non-Dairy Ice Cream in generously-sized, 1.5-quart tubs. That’s the equivalent of three pints, but it’s often sold for the same price as one pint of other dairy-free ice cream brands.

And there’s no reason to hunt around for the flavors. Breyers Non-Dairy Ice Cream is sold at mainstream grocers and it now comes in FOUR over-the-top varieties. Two of them have been available for quite some time. But this year, Breyers has added two more classics to their vegan selection: Mint Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chocolate Chip.

Breyers Non-Dairy Ice Cream Goes Big with Four Classic Flavors

When Breyers Non-Dairy Ice Cream originally launched, it just slipped onto store shelves, with little fan fare. Despite it’s quiet entry, it’s become a leader in the dairy-free ice cream space. Which is probably why they’re making more noise with the new flavors.

All four varieties are made with a real almond milk based, and spiked with cozy, familiar add-ins. Be sure to leave your own unbiased rating and review below when you try any of these tubs!

Mint Chocolate Chip

Ingredients: almond milk (water, almonds), liquid sugar (sugar, water), coconut oil, corn syrup solids, sugar, less than 2% of dutch cocoa (processed with alkali), pea protein, mono- and diglycerides, natural flavor, soy lecithin, guar gum, carob bean gum. contains tree nuts and soy.

Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 190 calories, 10g fat, 24g carbs, <1g fiber, 19g sugars (includes 18g added sugars), 1g protein.*

Chocolate Chocolate Chip

Ingredients: almond milk (water, almonds), liquid sugar (sugar, water), coconut oil, fructose, dutched cocoa (processed with alkali), sugar, water, soluble corn fiber, less than 2% of fava bean protein, soy protein isolate, mono- and diglycerides, guar gum, carob bean gum, soy lecithin, vanilla extract. contains tree nuts and soy.

Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 170 calories, 8g fat, 25g carbs, 3g fiber, 20g sugars (includes 20g added sugars), 2g protein.*

Vanilla Peanut Butter

Ingredients:almond milk (water, almonds), liquid sugar (sugar, water), peanuts, coconut oil, corn syrup, less than 2% of: pea protein, vegetable gums (carob bean, guar), mono and diglycerides, peanut oil, salt, natural flavor (coconut).contains peanuts and tree nuts.

Nutrition (per 2/3 cup): 190 calories, 11g fat, 21g carbs, <1g fiber, 15g sugars (includes 14g added sugars), 3g protein.*

Oreo Cookies & Cream

Ingredients: almond milk (water, almonds), liquid sugar (sugar, water), oreo cookie pieces {unbleached enriched flour [wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate (vitamin b1), riboflavin (vitamin b2), folic acid], sugar, palm and/or canola oil, cocoa (processed with alkali), high fructose corn syrup, leavening (baking soda and/or calcium phosphate), cornstarch, salt, soy lecithin, vanillin – an artificial flavor, chocolate}, coconut oil, corn syrup, less than 2% of: pea protein, vegetable gums (carob bean, guar), mono and diglycerides, natural flavor (coconut). contains tree nuts, soy, and wheat.

Lactose-Free Flavors are Not Dairy-Free

We receive comments from readers stating that Breyers has dairy-free Chocolate and Vanilla flavors, too. Please note that the Chocolate and Vanilla are Lactose-Free, the are NOT Dairy-Free. They are still made with milk, cream, and whey (and contain casein), but have lactase enzyme added to “digest” the lactose (milk sugar) in the dairy. Those flavors may be suitable for people with lactose intolerance who do not avoid dairy for any other reasons. But they are not suitable for anyone who needs to be dairy-free.
