Biography
Carl Olsen was born on 27 February 1860 in Tune, Østfold, Norway. He was the son of Ole Eriksen and Marte Marie Arnesdatter. Carl was baptized on 22 April 1860 in in Varteig, Tune, Smaalenenes, Norge.[1][2]
Carl Olsen (aged 6) was counted in the household of Ole Eriksen in the 1865 Norway.[3]

In the 1880 census Charles (age 20), railroad labourer, resided in the family home in Brainerd, Crow Wing, Minnesota, United States.[6]

In the 1910 US Census, Charles (age 50). the son of Martha Erickson, was a rail car repairman in the railroad workshops in Brainerd Ward 5, Crow Wing, Minnesota. His marital status[9] is unmarked.[10]

Carl Erickson may have been an inmate of the Hastings State Hospital (Fourth State Asylum for the Insane) in Hastings, Dakota, Minnesota. Records show that he died in Hastings on 8 July 1939 at the age of 77.[11] In the 1920 and 1930[12] US Census records, a Carl Erickson was an inmate there doing Ward Work as a Wage or salary worker.
Charles Erickson was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd, Crow Wing County, Minnesota.[13]
